Photography By Christophe Huet.
If you are merely glancing as you scroll through your dash, waiting for the work day to end, take a closer look at these manipulations by Huet. Stunning, simple, and wonderfully constructed. I must admit, I feel the most for the dog. Thanks Looks Like…
Coilhouse Volume 2.
I’ve yet to see volume one at Barnes and Noble or Domy, but there is now a volume 2 out. I’ll have to cave and order these online. I love the smell of glossy print quarterlies but if you can’t afford the press, they have a blog full of ‘love letters to alternative culture’, as they put it. Thanks BoingBoing!
Waking Up Realizing You Were Blind
I’ve literally lived in or around Austin my whole life. I was born and raised in Round Rock, schooled in Pflugerville, went to UT, and have lived in apartments all over the city. Sure, I knew of downtown, Barton Springs, SoCo, SXSW, and ACL, but I don’t think I’ve ever really known Austin until I started reading Austin Monthly and The Austinist.
My first issue of the former came in today, thanks to Eryn and Alex buying me a subscription for Christmas. Nearly every page of the Austin Monthly was a breathe of fresh air, whether about Austin music, art, food, culture, or style.
So I’m making it my goal to really learn about the town I live in and to stop taking it for granted. I can’t spend my whole life behind a Moleskine or Wacom, or I’ll never really be able to attach emotions to what I’m drawing. So here I go, one foot in, exploring this town called Austin.
Thanks to my friends for letting me take pictures of them asleep and cuddling. I was totally trying to go all American Apparel on their ass with this photo. I failed horribly. :x
All Gone 2008 Streetwear Encyclopedia
MJC released another chapter in their All Gone series. It has tons of great pictures relating to sneakers, fashion, design, and street art. (Warning, one of the thumbnails is NSFW). I’m more a fan of Italian dress shoes, never opting to buy street sneakers, but I always appreciate the design and art put into them.
Also, the design of the book itself is stellar. The oversized font, the bold candy red, the crisp, thick pages. Everything is done with style and perfection.
