Switching My Blog To jQuery.
Nerd alert. I finally got around to switching my blog to jQuery 1.4.1 (over Prototype). I installed the basic jQuery UI, but opted out of the themes and widgets. This will hopefully speed up development as I alter the functionality of my blog. My end goal is to improve user experience through untapped navigation techniques, AJAX, and integration with the Tumblr API.
However, starting small, the first thing I used jQuery for was to upgrade my pagination such that the opacity and size of each page is relative to the current page a reader is on. More mundane updates to come!
I’d now like to take a moment to rant on a continuing issue I have with Tumblr themes. Most of your paginations are horrible. Themes continue to provide 10pt arrows for navigation, in a faded color, in awkward places on the page. Some themes don’t even provide a home button. It’s like you want to punish people who view your site from actually navigating it. Stop it!

Queso is delicious and I want some. If I do not get said queso, I will probably eat a ham sandwich, which will still be good, but not as good.
See how easy it is to make a manifesto and not hurt anyone. Joe Stack, any valid points you had about taxation went out the window with your piss poor grammar and your desire to hurt those not involved. You should have just gotten an editor, a debt consultant, and some queso.

facebook, 25 things, lame, social, I’m glad Time’s Claire Suddath agrees with me, I was starting to feel like the only one that was consistently pissed off at Facebook’s new ‘25 Things About You’ bullshit. I haven’t read one of the 32 requests forwarded to me, and I never will for a few reasons.
- If you are my friend, I’ll learn about you through conversation.
- Otherwise, I don’t care about your life, at all.
- I already dealt with this in the 90s when it was called spam mail.
What’s next, Facebook is going to start suggesting I should befriend Nigerian princes who have fallen on hard times? Grow up, Facebook! Thanks Kate!
