Update: Improved lighting. Also, Hoarr has medical issues and I worry about him dearly.

A Rant On Austin Kleon.
I tend not to rant on other people, but Austin Kleon’s post about wanting to have a sketchbook that is, “the opposite of all those precious, perfect moleskines,” really annoyed me.
By writing a post, wasting time Photoshopping text overlays, and calling out the perfect nature of other’s Moleskines, you are just trying to have a perfect, precious Moleskine yourself. You aren’t doing anything new, that’s the point of sketchbooks, is to sketch. Way to underline words like ‘think’ and ‘real’ and ‘honest’, because it brings to mind words like douche to me.
Until you get to the point where you are just sketching and not wasting time blogging about it, you are still a precious Moleskine holder in my mind.
I’m not above the issues I accuse Austin of, I blog out of feelings of ego and greed as much as anyone else, but I’m not attempting to be altruistic about it. I’ll also say that I like Austin’s Tumblr, it’s just this particular post of his that annoys me greatly.

Which Moleskine Are You?
And you know, you don’t have to have a Moleskine per say, any sketchbook will suffice. I know a lot of people who even moved off of the Moleskine because of the dye they use in the pages. I never thought to pack condoms into one of them though… This wonderful art is by lunchbreath.
Anyways, I’m a formal freeformist, how about you?

I’m not seeing any hints towards pressure sensitivity. My second best hope is a clever use of my free hand to dynamically control brush sizes, rotations, and colors on the go. Still, I am loving this. I want one in my bag next to my Moleskine.

Moleskines Go BIG!
It seemed like only yesterday they were playing in the back yard with their tiny pocket sized bodies. Soon they grew up to be half the size of standard paper sheets, but we still thought they were cute. Well no more, life is hard, times change, Moleskines grow, with the Folio collection. ∞ My New Design Is UP!
I consider this V2.1 with the intent of releasing V2.2 sometime this week. V2.2 will include lots of fancy JavaScript stuff to display likes and reblogs, make AJAX disqus requests, add tag clouds, etc. Thanks to my parents for helping me with a photoshoot, and to all the Tumblrs who helped me make design choices.
Inspirations all came from primarily three places:
I didn’t have time to work on a footer, that’s V2.2 and will require that I draw some new artwork, which I can’t seem to do at 3 AM.
