Andrew Archer Illustration Portfolio.
With a heavy use of blended pastel colors and thick ink lines, Andrew Archer’s portfolio is sure to please. I marvel in how this piece incorporates an entire band, with their instruments fused into the circular design. Thanks LooksLikeGoodDesign.
Add me! It’s late and I want music suggestions.
“The average musician on a major record deal ‘gets’ about $23 per $1,000 made.” ~TechDirt.
That’s per musician. The band makes about $93 per $1,000. So if 1,000 people buy a band’s song for $1, they’ll only get $93 out of it while the record company gets the rest. So why don’t musicians just sell their own songs directly over the internet for $0.10.
They’d still make $93 off of the same 1,000 songs sold, no money goes to pointless record labels, they get to keep the copyrights, people would pirate their music way less, RIAA would die, the consumer could buy more songs, more music could be enjoyed, and realistically, they’d probably sell way more than 1,000 songs with a price that cheap.
I really see no downside, whatsoever.
Drive It Like You Stole It By Glitch Mob.
Jesse made me a mix CD because he loves me and it opens up with this song which is off the cheese grater. Ungh, I dig those keys. I imagine Emily Haines doing a chorus on this with Talib hitting the verse. Thanks J!
Musical Deja Vu.
Nothing new to the design scene, just a nice photo of an SD Card MP3 player disguised as a bright orange tape cassette. Thanks Yanko!
Orange Amplifier PC Computer Mod.
Nerd Alert. I must have this, at all costs. This is hands down, the sexiest, most well designed PC mod ever built in the history of the world. Oh, and to boot, it still has an Orange Amp in it, so you can play guitar on it. WHAT THE WHAT. I’m wasting all of my savings on this, I don’t care. Thanks Unplggd!
Sage Francis - Best of Times.
This is beautiful. Sage, you’ve moved my heart yet again. I can’t wait for the new album to drop. Thanks to Seth for the heads up.
If you live in Austin, TX, you should check out this show. I’ll be there, April 15th, so it is going to be a really special night. If you don’t go, I might unfollow you.
Kraddy - Android Porn (Mochipet Godzillaporn Remix).
In case you ever wondered what my musical style is, this video defines a large chunk of it. The rest of the time I’m listening to female singers like Sia, CSS, Remix, Rilo Kiley, and Metric. Thanks to elmuyawesome, at first I denied this reblog, but I could resist it no longer. I’m glad you are coming around to my side of the bit rate. Eight.

I’m rolling out my pet project again, AYearOfMusic.com, just in time for SXSW. If you need a chaotic and crowded overflow of data points to help you find your favorite bands, this is the site for you.
What’s that, you need to search it? Ctrl+F. Stop being spoiled!
